Cold air sinking into a large trough over the western U.S. will clash with unseasonably warm air under a ridge of high pressure over the eastern half of the country, setting the stage for strong thunderstorms and heavy rainfall
There will be signs of three seasons of weather this week. It will feel like summer with record heat for some, more like winter with mountain snow in a few states, and much of the middle of the country will see more typical spring weather with strong thunderstorms that could dump heavy rainfall.
Around 160 million people will face moderate to major HeatRisk, levels two, three, and four out of four, respectively.
