NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — The Department of Government Efficiency is trying to find “waste” and “fraud” in the government funded by Tennesseeans tax dollars.
U.S. Rep. Tim Burchett (R-Tenn.) is the chair of the DOGE subcommittee. He sat down with FOX 17 News Johnny Maffei this week to talk about his latest efforts, including $1 trillion in duplication in the government. Rep. Burchett says he has a bill to attempt to get that money back for the taxpayers and to tackle the national debt.
The East Tennessee congressman doesn’t know if he will get it all back, but he’s taking a crack at it.
