The total area of dry conditions fell, though in the most recent update, due to stormy conditions and heavy rainfall over the last week. This was particularly true through the South monitoring area from Texas to Tennessee, where severe weather conditions took hold. And luckily, some areas of the south are likely to see more substantial rainfall over the coming days, though other areas are not as lucky.
