Back in July 2021, Patrick Britton-Harr launched AeroVanti. The 37-year-old said his medical services businesses had given him enough wealth to dabble in private travel, although the costs put him off.
When he flew in the Piaggio P.180, a fast turboprop with rear-facing propellers, a comfortable cabin, and lower costs than a jet, Britton-Harr said he was spurred to launch AeroVanti as a private membership club.
By his side was his father, Steve Harr, a retired American Airlines pilot, who would oversee safety. Britton-Harr had already secured an experienced operator to handle the flights for the time being.
Membership cost $12,000 per year, and flights were $1,950 per hour.
