Amanda has become a little stronger over the open Pacific, but NHC specialists are already watching two additional disturbances that could keep the eastern Pacific hurricane season active well into next week.
Tropical Storm Amanda received a modest boost in strength this afternoon, but the National Hurricane Center says the storm is likely approaching the beginning of its decline as it encounters less favorable atmospheric conditions over the eastern Pacific.
As of the latest advisory, Amanda was located about 1,560 miles west-southwest of the southern tip of Baja California and was packing maximum sustained winds of 45 mph (75 km/h).
