Hands up, who remembers Rainbow Cotton for the SEGA Dreamcast? There are probably quite a few people who do, but for the majority of Xbox fans, we’d suggest that this 3D rail shooter from 2000 likely passed you by.

That doesn’t matter though, because 24 years after it first launched, we’re now getting it on Xbox! Rainbow Cotton is heading to Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S on May 9th, 2024, and this time it’s benefiting from “fully localised anime cutscenes” along with a “graphical overhaul”, complete with various other improvements as well. The controls are better, there’s a dedicated Retro Mode – the list goes on.

Hopefully this means Rainbow Cotton will get a better reception than it did back in 2000, when it received mixed reviews on the whole. If you’re interested, you can pre-order it now for £17.99 / $19.99 on the Xbox Store, and don’t forget to check out some other recently ported Cotton games on Xbox, such as Panorama Cotton and Cotton 100%.

We’ll throw more details about Rainbow Cotton for Xbox along with some screenshots below.
