A slow-moving storm system tracking across the southern United States will bring periods of heavy to locally excessive rainfall, beginning over west-central Texas through tonight before shifting eastward on Friday.
Although this rainfall will be beneficial for drought relief in many areas, its intensity may also lead to flash flooding in vulnerable locations and urban flooding where drainage systems can be quickly overwhelmed.
